A leading congress for the industry

The International Congress of the Industry for the Energy Transition (CITE) has successfully held three editions, establishing itself as a benchmark in the renewable energy sector.

CITE 2025: A record-breaking edition

On October 23, 2025, the Baluarte Conference Center in Pamplona hosted the fourth edition of the CITE Congress, a record-breaking edition that sold out weeks before the event. It also attracted the highest number of sponsors in its history, yet another sign that CITE is establishing itself as a leading event in the renewable energy sector.

The central theme of this edition was the need for Europe to have a strong renewable energy industry in order to meet the challenges of energy independence. Eight round tables were held with world-class speakers who shared their views on the challenges facing the wind, solar, storage, and green hydrogen industries. Current issues in the energy transition were also the focus of the debates: grid stability, the impact of AI, new technologies, and storage were topics that were widely discussed throughout the day.

CITE 2023: Navarre as a renewable industrial epicenter

On October 25, 2023, the Baluarte Conference Centre in Pamplona hosted the third edition of CITE. The congress gathered more than 300 professionals from the wind, solar, storage, and green hydrogen sectors. A highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Michael Liebreich, a globally recognized expert in clean energy, who spoke about the challenges and opportunities in the energy transition.

Discussions focused on the challenges facing the European renewable industry in a global context, new national and European legislation, and emerging technological trends. This edition further strengthened Navarre’s role as a leading renewable industrial region in Southern Europe, underlining the importance of collaboration between businesses, institutions, and society to move toward a sustainable future.

CITE 2021: Focus on Navarre’s renewable industry

The second edition of CITE was held on October 6 and 7, 2021, at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona. The event welcomed more than 400 national and international professionals. Once again organized by Enercluster and the Government of Navarre, in collaboration with the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE), the congress emphasized the importance of the renewable energy industry in Navarre’s economy, representing over 5% of the regional GDP and ranking as the second most export-intensive sector.

The sessions featured roundtables and discussions on technological innovation, energy storage, decarbonization of transport and industry, and distributed generation. There was also a strong focus on accelerating the green transition and strengthening the local value chain to remain competitive in a global market.

CITE 2018: Laying the foundations for the energy transition in Navarre

The first edition of CITE took place in October 2018 in Pamplona, organized by Enercluster in collaboration with the Government of Navarre. The congress brought together more than 300 professionals from the wind sector, including leading companies and key suppliers. The main objective was to boost and strengthen the renewable energy sector in the region, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration to foster competitiveness and sustainable development.

The event covered topics such as technological innovation, regulatory challenges, and investment opportunities in clean energy. This first edition laid the groundwork for positioning Navarre as a strategic hub for renewable energy in Southern Europe.
