The International Industry Congress for Energy Transition (CITE 2025) already has its program closed and confirms the leaders who will lead an intense day of debate and analysis on the present and future of renewable energies. The CITE is the reference event where leaders of the renewable sector meet to discuss the present and future of the industry.

The congress will kick off on Wednesday, October 22 with the traditional welcome dinner in the Baluarte’s Sala Muralla, a historic space that will kick off the networking opportunities. These professional connection activities, which will take place throughout the congress, were already highlighted in the entry “Networking, protagonist in CITE 2025”.

Thursday, October 23 will begin with the institutional opening, which has just been confirmed by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, who will be accompanied by María Chivite, President of the Autonomous Community of Navarra, and Aitor Erquicia, President of Enercluster.

Tables and protagonists

The first roundtable, dedicated to the wind energy sector, will bring together the CEOs of some of the most important international companies. Under the title “Wind CEOs Roundtable”, it will address how a sector of great industrial, strategic and energy value is facing challenges such as auctions, tariffs, Chinese competition or the processing of permits. Participants will include José Luis Blanco (CEO, Nordex Group), Torsten Tiefel (CEO, Silbitz Group GmbH), Michael Larsen (CEO, SM Industries) and Adolfo Rebollo (CEO, Ingeteam) with the moderation of Brian Gaylord, Principal Analyst at Wood Mackenzie.

This will be followed by a debate on “International experiences in the defense of the renewable value chain”. Countries such as the USA, India and Brazil have implemented legislation to encourage local manufacturing and strengthen the value chain. The round table will consider whether Europe, with its NZIA, is really up to the task. Speakers will include Mike Carr (Executive Director, Solar Energy Manufacturers of America), Ruben Davis (Senior Policy Officer, Cleantech for Europe) and Silvia Gavorníková (Head of Export Credits and Competition Division, OECD), moderated by Iker Chasco, Managing Director of Enercluster.

After the coffee break, the conversation will turn to solar energy and storage. The “PV & Storage CEO Roundtable” will discuss the strategic role of these industries in Europe and whether it is viable to compete with the Chinese giant. Present will be Herve Amosse (EVP, SAFT Energy Storage Solutions), Christoph Podewils (Secretary General, European Solar Manufacturing Council), Bertrand Lecacheux (CEO, Holosolis) and Marc Rechter (CEO MCPV). Moderated by Edurne Zoco, Head of Technologies and Supply Chains, Energy Transition at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

This will be followed by the “CEOs Developers Table”, focused on the challenges and opportunities for developers in a context marked by zero or negative prices, growing curtailments, administrative obstacles and stagnating demand. The discussion will feature Arantza Ezpeleta (CEO, Acciona Energía), João Costeira (Executive Managing Director, Low Carbon Generation, Repsol) and Rocío Sicre (General Manager Spain, EDP Renovables). The debate will be moderated by Kiko Maza, Communications Director of Enercluster.

After this table, at 2:15 p.m., the networking lunch will be held, a space designed to continue the conversations in a more relaxed atmosphere.
